Brothers Xabi, Iñaki, and Mikel Sanz founded Viña Zorzal in 2007 in Correla, Navarra, building on their family’s winemaking legacy. They shifted to an artisanal approach, focusing on single-parcel wines that highlight Fitero’s unique terroir. Their 40 hectares, farmed organically, include 25 hectares of old Garnacha vines, plus Graciano, Tempranillo, Garnacha Blanca, and Chardonnay. The rocky, clay, and limestone soils are erosion-resistant and permeable. In their remodeled family winery, they use low-intervention methods: no tilling, spontaneous fermentation, minimal racking, no filtering or clarifying, and limited sulfur, preserving the wines’ natural character.
