Maxime Troncy, a rising star in Beaujolais and new to the ZRS portfolio, began his natural wine journey in 2013 when his father entrusted him with 10 hectares to farm without chemicals, a bold shift from his family’s conventional winemaking tradition. The vineyard, enclosed by an ancient clos and planted with vines ranging from under 10 years old to over 80, embodies both heritage and renewal. Gaining early recognition by selling grapes to Julien Altaber, Troncy has since developed a reputation for cuvées that channel the freshness and fruit-driven clarity of classic Beaujolais, crafted for enjoyment and conviviality. In 2021, he partnered with his brother-in-law Damien Polosse to expand the estate to 18 hectares, two-thirds already certified organic with the rest in transition, cementing their shared commitment to sustainability and a future of wines that balance tradition, authenticity, and joy.
